Ms. Vivian M. Bryant

Vivian M. Bryant 62, of New Orleans, LA departed this earthly life on February 6, 2022, at New Orleans East General. Visitation 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday February 11, 2022, at Mt. Salem Baptist Church 2800 1st Street New Orleans, LA. Visitation 10:00am until 11:00am at Tangipahoa Missionary Baptist Church service following at 11:00am Pastor Don Allen officiating burial in Dickerson Family Cemetery in Osyka, MS. Vivian Marie “Rita” Bryant Dyson was born November 22, 1959, to the Odessa Taplin and Edell Bryant on Osyka, MS. Vivian attended school in the South Pike School District. She joined Tangipahoa MB Church in Osyka, MS at an early age, and remained a member until her health failed her. While living in New Orleans, she attended St. Thomas M.B. Church and Mt. Salem MB Church. Vivian worked several jobs, but her most important job was a homemaker. She loved to cook and thought no meal was complete without some fried chicken and deviled eggs. She loved to travel and spending time with family. She was the life of the party and never met a stranger. Her spirit went before her, we can still hear her saying “How the hell are you?” Vivian gained her wings on Sunday February 6, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joel Dyson; three sisters: Shirley Ann Taplin, Victoria Dillon, and Bessie Phillips; and one brother Jessie Bryant. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Nekeysha (Jimmy) Evans; one son Darryl Bryant Sr.; nine grandchildren: Kabbrisha Bryant, Garrick (Sidney) Bryant, Nekeyha Bryant, KeIren Cockerham, Dar-Ray Bryant, Darrell Franklin, Darryl Bryant Jr, Darrick Bryant, Dior Bryant; seven great grandchildren: Kamanie Bryant, Khrishell Bryant, Bobby Calvey Jr., Bentley Calvey,Trinidy Bryant, Tiyana Bryant, and Gia Bryant; one great-greatgrandchild Rowan Cockerham all of New Orleans, LA. One sister Edessa Taplin of McComb, MS; two brothers: Harvey (Patricia) McElveen of New Orleans and Jerry( Barbara) Bryant of Hammond, LA; one sister-in-law Katherine Bryant; one aunt Emma Jean Magee of Osyka, MS, a devoted niece Kendolyn “Kym” Johnson and a special nephew Kendric Johnson Sr. whom she had a hand in raising; a dear friend Velma Simmons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and dear friends. We will continue to follow the CDC guidelines, Mask and Social Distancing will be required upon entering the facility. Services entrusted to Peoples Undertaking Co.
